POLICIES
CANCELLATIONS, MAKEUP CLASSES & REFUNDS
Please do not attend class if you are sick.
We are a small business with tight margins. We are not able to offer refunds at this time, so please only sign up for a class if you are sure you can attend. We would like to avoid disappointment on all ends!
We cannot reschedule or refund if we are open for business, including in weather situations.
SHIPPING
We can ship your work to you. We will call with shipment price and require your card over the phone for shipping payment. We insure up to $100 with the postal service, and glass can break even in the safest conditions, so we always recommend that locals pick their work up whenever possible.
SAFETY & WAIVERS
All students will be required to sign waiver forms, including guardians of minor students. We promise to teach you all the safest ways to work with glass, if you promise to wear your safety glasses and follow our precautions, posted in the studio and clearly communicated by your instructor.
MASKS
Masks are a useful tool in the world of glass art. Many particulates are possible in the studio, so please bring a mask for your own protection. We do our best to limit the amount of dust in the shop and our students can help by cleaning up at the end of class!
KILN AND GLASS SALES OPERATIONS
Kilns are only to be fired or handled by employees, and glass in the store room is only to be handled by employees until purchased.
A NOTE TO OUR STUDENTS:
Hello Students,
We’re excited to welcome you into the studio for your upcoming glassmaking experience.
Before class, we want to set expectations clearly so you can get the most out of your time with us. Glassblowing is an art form that takes years of practice, patience, and repetition to master. Because of that, your piece may not come out “perfect” — and that’s completely okay. This experience is about much more than the finished object.
Your purchase is an opportunity to experience the process of working with hot glass, to learn something new, and to enjoy yourself creatively. Hopefully, the piece you make becomes something beautiful, useful, and meaningful to you, but the true value is in the experience itself.
Every piece created in the studio is a one-of-a-kind work of art. No two pieces will ever be identical. Part of the beauty of glass is embracing the unexpected and appreciating the uniqueness of what is created in the moment.
Failure and experimentation are natural parts of glassblowing and art in general. Learning to create means learning through mistakes, surprises, and growth. We encourage you to approach the experience mindfully — to enjoy the process, slow down, and be present. Think of this experience a bit like a massage: something restorative, immersive, and enjoyable rather than something to perfect.
If you enjoy the process and want to improve your skills, you are always welcome to attend additional classes and experiences. Growth comes with practice.
To keep our studio financially sustainable and continue offering these experiences while keeping the lights on and supporting our team, we do have a few important policies:
Warmly,
